The AMF shortens its binary options blacklist – September

Auteur :

As you may already know, French regulator AMF (Autorité des Marchés Fiannciers) is one of the most active institutions in the fight against online trading scams. The French regulator has been publishing an updated binary options broker blacklist for many years and regularly warns investors about the threats of trading with non-regulated broker. Most of the brokers included on the blacklist use aggressive internet advertising campaigns for binary option trading , announcing very high yields in very short periods of time. This is what is most commonly called a HYIP for High Yield Investment Program in the business. These aggressive marketing techniques and unachievable performances are the first red flags that should encourage you to make further researches about the broker. Most of the time, you will realize that this broker is not regulated and that it has been included on one of the many warning lists regularly published by European financial regulators. We already warned you against these HYIP and provided you with tips to identify them on our dedicated article: Beware of HYIP – High yield investment plans – trading scams. Don’t hesitate to have a look at it for further information.

The AMF withdraws the old names form its blacklist

It is the first time that the new AMF binary options broker blacklist is shorter than the previous one. This is because the French regulator has started to delete the names of the brands that closed their websites following the AMF warnings. Nevertheless, there are still a lot of URLs in the AMF list that are no longer active and we believe the regulator could still withdraw another 50 or 100 names in order to improve the quality and efficiency of its blacklist. We can only recommend you to check this list before depositing with any broker. Even though the AMF blacklist focuses on brokers targeting French retail investors, most of these platforms are also target investors in the UK.

We highly recommend you to avoid doing business with any of these brokers. It does not mean they are all binary options scams but we just think there are reliable and regulated alternatives that are much more safe and efficient. Don’t hesitate to have a look at our rankings of the best binary options brokers in Europe. They all offer attractive trading conditions (low deposit, multiple option types, advanced trading platforms, attractive bonuses…) and are fully regulated by the CySEC or the FCA.
